Five original rims were refurbished, and four of them fitted with new radial tyres.
The car is accompanied by the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certified copy of a factory record, a 1996 inspection report for historic status, and some maintenance invoices.
The historic inspection certificate is an official stamped document confirming that the total mileage was 79025 kms in 1996. The seller has been in contact with the owner at the time and the subsequent owner, to confirm that the mileage of 80189 kms is correct.
This Mini’s most recent maintenance was carried out in September 2020 by Rekara Classic Car Specialists, which consisted of all new liquids and filters, new engine seals and gaskets, a timing chain, and new brake drums, pads and cylinders all-round.
A comprehensive restoration was carried out between June and September 2020, which included a full respray, the engine and valve cover painted, a new water pump, radiator, fan, coolant hoses, a new steering rack, a clutch master cylinder and slave cylinders, the reconditioning and repainting of the fuel tank, four new tyres, reconditioned wheels, new hub caps, new ignition components, and a new exhaust system.
It retains the original hydrolastic suspension system, with the hydraulic fluid changed and system checked during the restoration.
Restoration included:
– remove all exterior fittings and engine
– full respray
– replace all necessary seals for engine, fit new timing chain
– paint engine and valve cover
– fit new water pump, radiator, fan, coolant hoses
– fit new steering rack
– overhaul brakes; fit new drums, pads and cylinders
– new clutch master and slave cylinders
– recondition and paint fuel tank
– new tyres, reconditioned rims and new hub caps
