Extremely rare late 3.9 litre LHD 2-door in need of restoration. By the early 1990’s the 2-door models were only built as special editions, low budget diesel commercial vans or by special order, like this one built for the Belgian market.
We are struggling to decide whether to renovate her to original specification – or build a “CSK Tribute”.
The Range Rover CSK was a limited edition of 200 numbered examples named after Charles Spencer King, the designer of the Range Rover. All were finished in Beluga Black, right hand drive only. The CSK was the sportiest Range Rover yet – as well as the most luxurious factory built 2-door by far.
Standard specification included 5-speed manual transmission, anti-roll bars and other suspension modifications, special alloy wheels, chrome bumpers, additional driving lamps, perforated Sorrell Beige leather, American Walnut wood veneer, air conditioning, electric sunroof as well as many other special features.
Coming back to this particular 2-door – it’s about as near as you can get to a CSK in left hand drive. A real rarity in it’s own right – finished in Ardennes Green metallic (Beluga Black was never available for LHD 2-doors), with the 3.9 litre fuel injected V8, manual transmission, Brogue Brown cloth (leather not available for any LHD 2-doors) with all vinyl surfaces and carpeting in the same shade of beige as on the CSK, as well as electric sunroof. Being a 1991 model, the sunroof is glass, providing more light and headroom. Air conditioning was not specified but can be installed.
Recently acquired as part exchange, at the time of writing the car is still in Belgium. Three owners from new. Full set of owner’s manuals, service book and lots of invoices and other documentation
